WET IN WET
Graham calls it Skinny Dipping !

SHINNY WET PAPER
NO CONTROL

SATIN WET PAPER
MONDERATE CONTROL

MAT-WET PAPER
BEST CONTROL
To ensure control when you work wet-in-wet make certain your brush contains
less moisture..pigment and water...than the amount that is on the paper.

There are many many more helpful hints in the book WATERCOLOR AND HOW

EXPLOSION OF COLOUR
Graham says what a Blast !

A runback occurs when you leave a pool of pigment on the paper.
These can creep or run back as the surrounding area dries and resembles a small explosion. When carefully planned they can create wonderful effects.

When you use a granular pigment there is not as much action to the explosion as when you use smooth or non granular pigments

Practice and experimentation will help you gain a complete understanding of these techniques so you can use them with confidence.
