Two printmaking disciplines

Waterless Lithography

These workshop will teach the
techniques in the medium of choice.
Included in these sessions is the use of
woodblock printmaking. You will carve a plate
that will enable the addition of colour to a print

If you prefer you may take only the
Woodblock printmaking sessions of the workshop

In the combination workshops
the woodblock technique will teach a generous amount of
information to enable the printing of colours
in combination with Waterless Lithography

Workshop location

Woodblock Printmaking Workshop

As in the past this very successful venue
includes all aspect of Woodblock Printmaking.

Each participant has their own table, carving bench
and space for a comfortable learning enviroment

We guide you through each phase

types of wood for plates,
(approximately $10 for 9 x 12 plate)

method of carving,
method of cutting kentos
sharpening of tools,
inking your plates
mixing pigments
method of achieving smooth bokashi (gradation of colour
sample of pigments supplied
use of rice paste,
preparing and tuning inking brushes
kizuki hosho paper available at cost
tying a baren
(this is worth the price of admission)
burnishing method

All of this in the relaxed atmosphere of a 700 sq ft Studio
adjacent to a Westcoast Rainforest

one needs a sweater in the cool of the evening
and you have a nice warm comfortable bed

Workshop: 5 days of Instruction - from 9 am to 4 pm.
Studio open until 9 pm each night.
